One question that I get asked all the time is – what’s the best electric smoker for beginners? Well, in this post, I’m going to give you the answer.

If You Want To Cook Delicious Meat or Amazing Veggies, One Of The Best Ways To Do It, Is With A Smoker.

You see, smoking your food locks the juices and tenderizes the food better than other cooking methods.

I have looked at build quality, maintenance, ease of cleaning, and design, to help you find the perfect new smoker.

During the process, I analyzed 10824 customer reviews and looked at 51 products to give you this top 6 review of smokers that are especially good for begineers.

So, lets check them down in descending order.

#6. Smoke Hollow 3616DEWS, 36-Inch Digital Electric Smoker.

This unit comes with new updated digital display and controls that make this electric smoker very easy to operate. The tempered glass viewing window makes it easy to see the results without the need for opening the door. It has a large capacity of 3 cubic ft. It comes with external-loading wood chip tray, allowing you to easily add wood chips.and it includes 4 chrome-plated cooking grids with multiple adjustment levels. Customers who bought this item especially liked that its easy to set up and eliminates all of the messy wood which is great for a beginner!

And, you can’t beat the price.

What they didn’t like was that the digital control panel is almost impossible to read in daylight. If you are looking for a smoker that holds temperature, is easy to assemble, has a window to see progress and delivers consistent results, then you should consider the model from SmokeHollow.

On the negative side, this one is a little slow at heating up and it is at the higher end of the price scale.

#5. Little Chief, Front Load Smoker from Smokehouse

This front-loading electric smoker comes with recipe/instruction booklet and a 1.75-pound bag of Chips & Chunks hickory flavor wood fuel. It has a consistent low-temperature setting using a 120V, 250W heating element for approximately 165°F. It also includes easy-slide chrome-plated grills, maximum capacity flavor fuel pan, and a dishwasher safe drip pan. The unit is built in a durable, embossed aluminum construction and it comes with a 2-year limited warranty by Little Chief

Customers who like these write in their reviews:

If you want a good smoker at a reasonable price, think Little Chef. This smoker is so easy to use and produces incredible results.

Very few customers had problems with them:

Does not fully cook meat, had to finish in the oven.

If you are looking for a good beginner smoker that is lightweight, very simple to use and comes at a very favorable price, then this one is for you.

But, this one has a slightly flimsy design and it has no controls or thermometer. At the time of this review, the price was just below $100, making it the cheapest one in this review.

#4. Cuisinart, C.O.S-330, Electric Smoker

The COS-330 smoker from Cuisinart is convenient and easy to use, it is great for both beginners and seasoned smokers. Simply plug it in, place your meat on the racks, set the temperature and let the smoker do its job. It features an easy-to-read thermometer on the front door that helps monitor the internal temperature and it has a lightweight frame and two side handles for ease of mobility.

The 1500-watt heating element in this unit, will produce a temperature from 100 to 400°F

Customers who like these write in there review:

Very well made, and not too bad assembly. Can’t go wrong at this price, got some hi-temp sealant, and it cooks the heck out of some brisket. Super happy with this and the price is great, too.

And what some of them did not like:

The one major issue is the combination of wood chip and water plate If you are looking for a Smoker that isn’t too expensive, but still has enough cooking space for a large family, and has a max temperature of 400 degrees, then you should definitely check out this one.

I like the three-year warranty, the ergonomic spring door handle and, the excellent customer service from Cuisinart.

On the negative side, this one has no electronic temperature control, the wood bowl is a little small and some customers complained about smoke leaks from the door.

#3. Bradley Smoker BS611 – Original Smoker

The BS611 has 100% stainless steel interior, which makes them easy to clean. and the rack supports in this one keep racks from tipping over when pulled out. This one has the smoking box and control panel to the right of the actual unit. The cooking element is 500 Watts, and maximum temperature is 250°F

Here is what customers love about it:

This is my 2nd Bradley Smoker, the last one lasted for 8 years of smoking almost every weekend and year round. This smoker is easy to use and Bradley offers great recipes. The rack system, drip tray, water reservoir, door seals, temp gauge are all excellent.

And some customers were unsatisfied with the following:

It doesn’t reach high enough temperatures to cook with confidence.

This one is one of the more expensive models in this review, but you also get excellent durability and it works well with wood briquettes. If you like the option to do cold smoking, the automatic Chip Feeder and the large size of the unit make this really simple.

On the downside, a few customers have had problems with the heating element and the maximum temperature is only 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

#2. Char-Broil Deluxe – Digital Electric Smoker

The Char-Broil smoker comes with double-wall insulated construction. The advanced control panel on the top of this model has an easy to read display. It also comes with a removable food thermometer, glass door and stainless steel, dual-tone finish.and the large, stainless steel locking latch ensures a smoke-tight seal.

Customers who bought this item especially liked that it’s easy to use and made delicious food.

It also comes with great instructions for various meats. It’s well built, and has a handy remote control.

Only a very few customers had problems with them:

My only complaint is that the probe connection is in a very awkward place to attach it.

At a price at just below $300 at the time of this review, this is the most expensive model that made it to this top 6. It is the Deluxe model from Char-Broil, which clearly shows on the finish but I like that this model includes wheels and a handle, making it much easier to move.

I also like the Remote Control, removable temperature gauge, and the big window on the front. But this one can be a little hard to clean up, and it can only heat to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

#1. Masterbuilt MB20073519 Bluetooth Digital Electric Smoker with Broiler

Masterbuilt MB20073519 Bluetooth Digital Electric Smoker

My #1 pick from Masterbuilt has a 13,000 cu/inches of cooking space with 4 chrome-coated racks.and a 800-watt heating element. It also comes with digital temperature and timer controls.

The thermostat temperature control ensures even cooking from 100 to 275 °F.and it has a convenient side loading of wood chips, removable drip pan, and a top air damper.

Here is what most customers liked about the Masterbuilt Electric Smoker:

It is easy to use, and uses only a little chips. It’s easy to clean and does its job. Excellent deal for the price!

And what some of them did not like: I will say that the wood loader is pretty cheaply made and stiff to get out. If you are looking for a unit that is simple to start, and one where you don’t have to worry until your food is done, then this is the right one for you.

I love the built-in meat probe monitor, the Digital control panel, and that it is really easy to clean and maintain.

On the negative side, it is a bit expensive, the unit is not waterproof, and it doesn’t have handles, so moving it, is a bit awkward.
